Fill a clean test tube with 5 ml of water to be tested to the line on the tube. Add 3 drops of Test Solution, holding dropper bottle upside down in a completely vertical position to assure uniformity of drops. Cap the test tube and invert tube to mix solution. Do not hold finger over open end of tube as this may affect the pH of the test solution.

What the numbers truly mean will differ depending what fish you want to keep and on the exact numbers you got. Just for example, if I compare your result for GH, just to the test strips I have on hand, your result of Which might or might not suit the fish you want. Tetra, the maker, is guessing a bit, I think, with what they call the safe zone.
In any event, stability of parameters is always the more important consideration. Much depends on what livestock you want. If your GH and KH are really high, African lake cichlids would do fine, but not livestock that needs soft, acid water. My Tetra test strips are a bit bolder, they actually tell you what Tetra thinks is OK.
If you check on a site like Seriouslyfish, it will tell you what water parameters suit the species you keep or want to keep. So will others. If you have water with high KH, making changes to the parameters will be very difficult or impossible. Most end up using RO or DI water to dilute water like this, if need be. Or they use only RO and remineralize it to suit the need. The conversion chart just shows you how one scale of measurement, the German degrees, compares to ppm, or parts per million.
So you can translate the result into either scale. Some sites refer to German degrees, some refer to ppm. Unlike the API test, the test strips I use give results in ppm only. Tetra calls that ppm Very Hard.
But also bear in mind, like anything else, fish can adapt to some degree. Good to be somewhere in the ballpark though. Just an example; my tap water takes 11 drops on the API test. KH is also high, though the exact result escapes me just now. But people here keep Angel fish successfully, among others; many fish that originate from soft acid waters are very popular.
So long as parameters are stable, most fish appear to cope, as nearly as we can tell about how fish feel. I still struggle with water chemistry. Those may interest you:.
